Vintage Skyway Train Case; Tweed/Beige Trim; Burgundy Satin/Tan Int; Mirror/Key

This Skyway vanity train case is made of sturdy vinyl with the look of brown tweed and trimmed in beige leather with double stitching along all of the edges. All hardware on the case is in antique brass including the two latches and lock mechanisms on either side of the front of the case. A cursive “Skyway” name plate is attached to the bottom front under the right latch. Has a sturdy top handle in beige leather held on by antique brass hardware. There are four round antique brass pegs on the bottom of the vase for protection. The interior of the case is lined in a sturdy washable dark tan plastic material on the bottom with a gathered and divided burgundy satin piece attached to the back to hold smaller items. The inside of the lid is lined in burgundy satin with a gathered and divided pocket that holds a removable mirror under plastic in the middle and two smaller sections on the ends. An antique silver Milwaukee Stamping Co key is included for locking the case and works easily and perfectly with both locks on the case. The train case weighs just about 3 1/2” lbs and the dimensions are 13” long, 9 1/2” wide, 7 1/4” high and is 5” deep. This beautiful Skyway train case is from the 1950’s and is in wonderful vintage condition. As expected with age, there are a few slight markings on the exterior tweed and beige leather and the handle shows light wear. There is a small cut in the beige leather on the top right side of the lid but there are no dents, cracks, or deep scratches. The interior of the case is also in good condition with a few areas of staining on the bottom and inside the lid area but there are no tears, rips, or holes and no interior odors.
